Wilmington, N.C. – The first 90-degree day of the year arrived in Wilmington on Thursday, right on schedule, while Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach sizzled to the same milestone 1–2 weeks earlier than average.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Wilmington’s high hit 90°F on May 16—the city’s typical date for its first 90-degree reading. Myrtle Beach climbed to 90°F eight days ahead of its usual May 24 average, while North Myrtle Beach reached 90°F nearly three weeks early compared to its usual June 3 date.
