LITTLE RIVER, S.C. (WBTW) — A 16-year-old boy from North Carolina has been jailed in connection with last month’s Little River party-boat mass shooting that injured 11, Horry County police said.
The boy will be charged with eight counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The teenager will be transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
The boy is the second person charged in the shooting after Shawon Shamarion Williams, 19, was arrested Thursday in Lake County, Illinois, near Chicago.
Suspect in Little River boat-party shooting wasn’t alone, victims’ attorney says
Williams, who graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School in 2023 and was in the Navy, waived his extradition and will return to Horry County to face his charges.
