An alligator was spotted with a soccer ball lodged in its mouth at a golf course in Sunset Beach, North Carolina, on May 25. The Sunset Beach Police Department shared footage of the alligator at Sea Trail Golf Resort in Sunset Beach on their Facebook page. Three officers arrived at the scene and prepared to safely intervene, but the alligator was able to roll in the water and dislodge the ball on its own before any action was taken, according to the department. “It swam away unharmed, though we can’t say the same for the soccer ball, which sustained fatal injuries,” the Sunset Beach Police Department joked.
