HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Testimony began Tuesday morning in the trial of an Horry County woman accused of killing her four children’s father in 2020 during her affair with a man who was a deputy coroner at the time.
Meagan Jackson is facing murder and conspiracy charges in the killing of Gregory Rice, whose body was found in the Little Pee Dee River on Nov. 8, 2020. Authorities said he had been shot multiple times.
Jackson’s trial began on Monday with jury selection in Horry County Circuit Court. The former deputy coroner, Christopher Dontell, is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty in early December to charges of accessory after the fact of murder and conspiracy to commit kidnapping and agreed to testify against Jackson.
