3 charged with obstruction after child suffers head injuries, dies at Carolina Forest hospital

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Three women are facing obstruction of justice charges after a child suffered head injuries last week and later died at a Carolina Forest hospital, arrest warrants obtained by News13 show.

Lakesha Burnett, 34; Alantis Thomas, 21; and Camisha McGaskey, 31, have each been charged with one count of obstructing justice. They were booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center early Thursday morning and released to home detention on a $5,000 bond.

The incident happened at about 5 p.m. Wednesday on Sago Palms Drive off Highway 501 and Legends Drive, where a police report said officers responded to assist an EMS crew already on the scene…
