‘Juveniles and guns’: 15th Circuit solicitor says young people aren’t thinking about consequences

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — After a string of violent crimes involving teenagers and young adults in Horry County, concerns about gun violence are ramping up.

From a 17-year-old who allegedly shot at police officers during a chase through Market Common in May, to a 16-year-old accused of opening fire on a Little River boat dock days later, teenagers with guns have become a major concern in Horry County.

“A problem that our area is having, especially the early months of the summer, has been juveniles and guns,” 15th Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson said. “Juveniles or teenagers don’t do enough thinking about the consequences of this action.“…
