‘Lives completely shattered’: Jury convicts Conway woman of killing father of her children

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – A jury found a Conway woman guilty of murdering the father of her children Tuesday.

The jury convicted Meagan Jackson on one count of murder in connection with Gregory Rice’s death in October 2020.

Jackson shot Gregory at least five times near his home in the Arrowhead community before working with her lover, former Horry County Deputy Coroner Chris Dontell, to cover up his death and leave his body in the Little Pee Dee River.

As she fought back tears, a judge sentenced Jackson to life in prison without the possibility of parole…
