Solicitor: 11-year-old’s death could change a state law for the first time in decades

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – The tragic death of an 11-year-old girl in Horry County could renew a push to close a legal loophole in South Carolina’s child abuse laws.

Lawmakers across the state have been pushing and failing to expand one law that would protect children 11 years old and older.
