MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – We are wrapping up a pretty hot and humid Saturday. A few lucky folks in Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties cashed in on some thunderstorms and rain. Those storms produced a lot of lightning. Tonight we will see warm and humid conditions continue. A few areas could see some patchy fog, some of the fog could be pretty dense. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 70s overnight.
As we head into Sunday, we will see another hot and humid day. Temperatures will be back into the 90s inland. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s. Along the coast we will see a sea breeze kick in early afternoon. That will help limit temperatures to the upper 80s to near 90. Not expecting widespread coverage but a very isolated storm could form on the the sea breeze. Highs near the coast will be in the upper 80s.
As we head into the new week, we will see temperatures soar into the low to mid 90s along the Grand Strand. As we get into the inland areas, we will see temperatures warming into the mid to upper 90s. By Wednesday into Thursday, a few locations could flirt with 100 degrees inland. Heat index values at the coast and inland will be in the 100s. I would expect to see some heat advisories issued. Thunderstorm chance are very slim…
