Early July front to bring increased rain chances, more humidity by midweek!

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The first day of July looks to feature typical summerlike weather, but an incoming front will bring us a more widespread chance of rain ahead of the Fourth of July!

HEADLINES:

  • Tuesday’s sea breeze will bring us another round of isolated thunderstorms – mostly away from the coast – between 11 AM and 6 PM.
  • A slow-moving cold front looks to bring a more widespread chance of rain and storms Wednesday and Thursday. Locally heavy rainfall is possible, but no severe weather is expected.
  • Rain chances should remain low for the Fourth of July (Friday). Weekend rain chances are contingent on a potential low pressure system just off the coast.

FIRST ALERT: Make sure to exercise caution at the beach this week ahead of the Fourth of July holiday! A “Moderate” rip current risk exists on Tuesday for the Charleston and Georgetown County coasts, while a “High” risk is in place for sections of Horry County. #SCWX#CHSWXpic.twitter.com/4snEco6e06
