MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — This morning will be mostly clear, muggy and mild with temperatures starting in the mid- and upper 70s. Most of the morning and early afternoon are trending dry with partly sunny skies. Typical high temperatures in early July will be in the upper 80s at the coast and low to mid-90s inland.
A cold front will top headlines through Wednesday with scattered showers and thunderstorms beginning late this afternoon. Storms will continue overnight, and it looks to be a soggy morning commute for some of us tomorrow. The front pushes through tomorrow afternoon with rain chances likely all day. This will keep temperatures cooler inland in the mid-80s. There is no threat of severe weather, but there will be lightning and heavy rain at times.
This cold front will push through and then stall on Thursday, keeping spotty rain chances around through the end of the week, but it will not be as rainy as Wednesday. If the soon-to-be stalled front is stationary offshore, a weak area of low pressure could develop along the boundary, which is why the National Hurricane Center has a 20% chance of a tropical depression over the next seven days.
