HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — More than 30 dogs were temporarily taken in by volunteers across Horry County ahead of Tropical Storm Chantal after Grand Strand Humane Society officials put out a call for help hours before its landfall.
“We put out a desperate call for help — we needed fosters for 21 dogs to get them out of their outdoor kennels and into safe homes. Because of you, we didn’t just meet that goal, we crushed it,” the Humane Society said in a Facebook post.
Officials said 35 dogs were taken in, with many volunteers submitting photos of their happy houseguests out of the elements.
“It’s clear just how much this means to them — happy faces, wagging tails, and peaceful naps on soft couches. These pups aren’t just safe from the storm — they’re thriving,” the Facebook post said…
