17-year-old boy dies in Horry County shooting, coroner says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 17-year-old boy died in a weekend shooting suspected to be in the Longs area, the Horry County Coroner’s Office said Monday.

Jamarion Jackson died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said. He was driven home from an incident location suspected to be in Longs.

Officers responded at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday to Stallion Court, which is east of Conway near Highway 22, for a shooting, according to a police report obtained by News13. Officers found Jackson in a vehicle, and he was confirmed dead by EMS, who had arrived at the scene shortly after.

The vehicle involved in the incident, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe with a South Carolina license plate, was towed to the M.L. Brown Building impound lot for further processing, according to the report, which does not list any suspects…
