Teen gun violence linked to car break-ins, gang activity, Horry County solicitor says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Teen gun violence remains a hot topic in Horry County, and recent incidents involving young people are raising questions about how teens are getting firearms.

Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson said car break-ins and gang activity are some of the biggest causes for concern.

“It is heartbreaking,” Richardson said. “I hate it, but when given the chance of saying either we’re going to protect society or we’re going to worry about these individuals, we’re going to protect society every time.”…
