MYRTLE BEACH (WBTW) – The Horry County School District has big plans to upgrade and update many of the school’s athletic facilities over the next couple of years.
HCS Athletic Director Jason Cox lined out a timeline to News13 for when things will be under construction and complete in the coming years.
- New Tennis Courts for all schools (2025-2026)
- Scoreboards for Gymnasiums and Ballfields (2025-2026)
The big project will be significant upgrades to the varsity baseball and softball fields for the 9 schools in the district. Each will get new seating, with the 5A schools getting 500 new seats, the 3A schools will get 400, and Green Sea Floyds gets 300.
In addition to seating, upgrades will happen to the press boxes, irrigation and draining. Additional batting cages will be constructed if need be as well. This will happen over the course of 5 years…
