MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – Buying a timeshare may have seemed like a great idea at first, but the financial burden of being a timeshare owner lingers for years.

And if you’re trying to sell, you may unknowingly open yourself up to becoming the target of a timeshare resale scam.

In January of 2024, the New York Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation issued a warning, saying, “Criminals across the country are scamming timeshare owners out of millions of dollars by promising to sell or rent unsuspecting victims’ timeshares.”…
