$84.5M for public safety in 2026 Myrtle Beach budget

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Myrtle Beach City Government announced Thursday it would allocate $84.5 million to the public safety of the city in its 2026 fiscal year budget.

Myrtle Beach has budgeted spending on public safety for many years, according to the Myrtle Beach public information officer, Meredith Denari.

“Every year, the City’s top priority is pubic safety. That’s been consistent in every budget for five years, probably every budget forever. Especially, when the city’s budget keeps increasing, we have a little over $360 million in our budget this year. We have a little bigger budget for our public safety teams,” Denari said…
