No injuries reported after church summer camp bus catches fire

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — No injuries have been reported after a charter bus carrying 30 adults and children from a church summer camp caught fire on I-77 Friday.

The group was returning to Pawleys Island from north Columbia when the bus’s engine caught fire near the Wilson Boulevard exit.

Crews from the Columbia-Richland Fire Department responded around 11:45 a.m. and were able to contain the blaze.
