Meagan Jackson co-conspirator gets 20 years in prison for role in 2020 murder

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — A former Horry County deputy coroner who admitted to helping his ex-lover kill her estranged partner in 2020 was given a 20-year prison term on Monday.

Christopher Dontell, 41, was given the maximum possible sentence by Circuit Court Judge Alex Hyman after he took a deal Dec. 4, one day into his murder trial tied to the death of Gregory Vincent Rice.

Dontell’s ex-lover, Meagan Jackson, was found guilty of murder on June 17 and sentenced to life in prison. He was one of the star witnesses at her trial after pleading guilty during his to being an accessory after the fact and conspiracy — setting himself up for a possible 20-year prison term.
