Power restored after a car crashed into a utility pole in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Power has been restored after a car crashed into a utility pole in Horry County Monday night, thousands were without power in the surrounding area.

Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched around 11 p.m. Monday to a single-vehicle crash near Pine Hollow Road and Highway 544 in the Socastee area.

As of 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning lanes of Highway 544 have reopened, according to Horry Electric’s outage map power has been restored in the area.

The crash included a utility pole which left power lines blocking the road and left thousands without power in the Forestbrook and Socastee area. The power lines were down across the road blocking all lanes at one point…
