Horry County crews respond to small chemical spill at home; 1 person taken to hospital

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after a small chemical spill at an Horry County home, authorities said.

An Horry County Fire Rescue hazardous materials team was called at 10:34 a.m. to Pepperhill Circle and was able to ventilate the area and begin monitoring air-quality levels. Authorities have not released information about the nature of the spill.

The person’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to HCFR, which said there was no threat to the public. Authorities said people should expect to see an increased public safety presence in the area…
