At about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, there were a group of 30 people standing in the South Carolina sun trying to get as close as possible to the filming of the TV show “Outer Banks.”
By 11 a.m., when filming had apparently started, close to 100 people had gathered at the Swing Bridge Park. The temperatues were already nearing 90 degrees with the forecast calling for the heat index to again be in the triple digits on Tuesday.
The Netflix drama is filming near the Socastee Swing Bridge on Tuesday, with part of Dick Pond Road closed for the movie set. The crew appeared to be using the Socastee United Methodist Church parking lot, 5575 Dick Pond Road, as a home base with trailers, set crew and vans filling the lot.
The crowd was a mix of locals and tourists hoping to catch a glimpse of the actors. This included best friends Sophia Deagan and Everleigh Dogel, both 13. They stood on a patch of grass next to Domino’s Pizza holding two hats and sharpies…
