Horry Georgetown Technical College opens new healthcare institute for nurses, EMTs

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) has transformed the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base gymnasium into a cutting-edge Nursing and Health Sciences Institute.

The facility, originally built as a gymnasium for the Air Force Base in 1960, now serves as a modern educational hub for healthcare programs, with plans to increase nursing enrollment to 600 students by 2030.
