Apparent lightning strike and fire at 16-unit complex in Horry County leave residents displaced

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — An apparent lightning strike and fire Thursday afternoon led to all of the residents of a 16-unit building being displaced, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.

Crews responded at 2:26 p.m. to a reported structure fire in the 400 block of River Oaks Drive. They put out a fire on the exterior of the building, and no one was hurt.
