Myrtle Beach High School fined nearly $8K over ‘significant paperwork violations’; new interim athletic director named

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Myrtle Beach High School has been fined nearly $8,000 over “significant paperwork violations and three ineligibles participating during the 2024-25 school year” and has named a new interim athletic director.

The school was initially fined $10,250, but appealed it and was granted a $2,500 reduction, Horry County Schools said. Myrtle Beach High School’s final fine is set at $7,750.

“Both Horry County Schools and Myrtle Beach High School express their gratitude to the League for considering the appeal and reducing the fine, acknowledging the school’s proactive approach in self-reporting the issues and their ongoing efforts to standardize processes to rectify concerns within the athletic department following the 2024-2025 academic year,” the school district’s news release reads…
