2 Horry County women accused of filing $25K insurance claim for hit-and-run that never happened

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Two Horry County women have been charged with fraud after allegedly filing insurance claims for a hit-and-run crash that never happened, according to warrants provided by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Jamela Jolly and Unique Johnson, both of Myrtle Beach, were each charged with presenting a false claim for insurance payment valued at $10,000 or more. Jolly was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Tuesday and released Tuesday, while Johnson was booked Thursday and released Thursday.

Johnson and Jolly are accused of filing a fraudulent claim by reporting a hit-and-run crash on Forestbrook Road, claiming their vehicle was struck from behind and they sustained injuries, warrants show. An investigation by both SLED and First Acceptance Insurance determined the crash never happened…
