MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – A fairly cloudy across the area today. Our coastal areas have a coastal flood advisory through the evening hours. We could see some low lying areas flood with high tide and full moon. Shower chances will continue to climb as we go into the evening and overnight hours. Lows tonight will fall into the low 70s.
A trough or boundary will move inland early Sunday morning. That will bring widespread rain to the coastal areas for Sunday. This will bring about some heavy rain across the Grand Strand. southward into Southern Marion and Florence counties. This will also include Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties. We could see 1-3″+ rainfall across the area. This could bring about some isolated flooding concerns across the Grand Strand. If we see enough instability we could see a few thunderstorms develop across our coastal areas. Inland, we will see a chance of showers as well. The heaviest rain should stay towards the coast. Highs will be in the low 80s.
As we get into Monday, we will see another area of moisture move onshore. This will continue a very wet period across the Grand Strand. This could only elevate a flash flood threat for Monday across the coastal areas. Rain chances linger inland as well, but the rain should not be as heavy. Highs on Monday will be in the low 80s…
