Woman had alcohol in her car in crash that killed 83-year-old man in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A woman jailed on a reckless homicide charge in connection with a deadly crash months ago in Myrtle Beach had an unsealed bottle of alcohol in her vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt, a police report shows.

Leigh Ann Rayno, 52, remains in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $50,000 bond, according to online jail records. The report shows the crash happened on May 25 along Kings Highway, just south of 9th Avenue South.

Rayno’s arrest on Monday stems from the death of Robert Brasington, 83, of Lancaster, South Carolina, the Horry County Coroner’s Office said. He died on May 27 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from blunt force injuries suffered in the crash, which happened days earlier…
