JP Miller in court for assault charges in protester altercation

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — John-Paul Miller is in court on Monday for assault charges involving protestors in November 2024.

Miller was arrested for third-degree assault and battery, according to online records from the Myrtle Beach Police Dept.

A jury trial is set to begin Monday morning.

WHY HE’S IN COURT:

Police responded to a possible assault back in November 2024 at 743 Hemlock Avenue, which is near Solid Rock Church in The Market Common where John-Paul is a pastor.

According to the arrest warrant, the victim was protesting and crossed the street to approach John-Paul. The victim said “Here Kitty Kitty” to John-Paul, before he turned around, got in the victim’s face and put his phone up as if he was recording her, according to the warrant…
