MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — With a 30-year agreement in place to keep the Pelicans in Myrtle Beach, city leaders are prepared to spend up to $14 million over the next several years for needed stadium upgrades.
A financing plan set for approval on Tuesday would allow the city to reimburse itself through hospitality tax collections — no funds from any other sources would be used for the work, the documents say.
“The resolution does not authorize the issuance of debt. Further council action will be required for any borrowing is undertaken for the project,” documents say.
