MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Eva Perez Rigney has announced her candidacy for Mayor of Myrtle Beach, focusing on economic challenges, rising crime and dependence on tourism.

Rigney was born in a small village in the Philippines, where she was raised through hardship. She has built her career all the way up to founding a post-secondary school for displaced workers in Kentucky and created jobs through restaurants and retail businesses.
