An Horry County Police Department vehicle crashed into another car on Sunday before driving off the road into a ditch, the South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed.
The crash occurred in unincorporated Horry County, according to county spokesperson Mikayla Moskov, who confirmed an officer’s involvement in the crash but was unable to share further information. It took place along US Highway 701 at around 12:25 p.m., Cpl. David Jones with the SCHP said by email.
The police vehicle, a 2023 Dodge Charger, rear-ended a 2004 Toyota four-door, according to Jones, who confirmed that the Dodge Charger is registered to the Horry County Police Department.
