Former Boys and Girls Club of the Grand Strand worker fired after reporting financial abuse, lawsuit claims

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — A former Boys and Girls Club of the Grand Strand business manager was fired after just six months on the job for reporting financial misconduct by its executive director, a recently filed lawsuit claims.

Laura Rice started working at the Myrtle Beach facility in December and began “observing and documenting financial and operational misconduct by .. executive director Ryan Grace,” her complaint — filed Sept. 5 in Horry County Common Pleas Court — says.

Rice, who was terminated on April 15, alleges that she shared her concerns in writing with the organization’s board of directors…
