MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — It’s been nearly five months since a bullet shattered the leg of 15-year-old Serenity Chavis on N. Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.
Chavis was one of 11 people injured in the April 26 incident in which Myrtle Beach Police Officer Brandon O’Rourke shot and killed 18-year-old Jerrius Davis after authorities said Davis fired four shots from a Taurus .40 caliber handgun into a crowd of people on the busy boulevard.
On Thursday, Chavis’ mother and an attorney representing Matthew Flow, another of the victims, reacted to a long-awaited report on the shooting that was released on Wednesday by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
