CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — A retired Conway man says he played an integral role in helping investigate the SepT. 11, 2001, terrorist attack as an FBI supervisory special agent in New Jersey.
James Furry was an eighth grade history teacher in Pennsylvania before working his way up the ranks in Washington. He said he served in the FBI for almost 28 years before the 9/11 attack.
On the day of the attack, Furry said he was at an all employees conference in New Jersey when an assistant special agent told the group to turn on the television. By that time, the first plane had already hit the North Tower…
