‘They’re not soldiers’: Horry County Schools installing panic alert system for teachers, next step in safety initiative

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County Schools is taking another large initiative towards protecting its students, teachers and staff through a wearable panic button.

The district says it’s invested about a million dollars into a special type of technology for any emergencies.  Installations are underway inside every single Horry County School. The district says soon enough all staff and teachers will have a wearable panic button assigned to them.
