Myrtle Beach detectives recognized for work in dismantling $1.5 million car theft ring

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Two detectives with the Myrtle Beach Police Department were recognized for their work in dismantling a multi-state car theft ring.

Myrtle Beach Police detectives Zavistaski and Sculac were honored for their part in an investigation between January and December of 2024 across Myrtle Beach, Charlotte and Monroe.

The investigation dismantled a car theft ring targeting high-performance Dodge and Jeep models.

A critical traffic stop made in North Carolina led to the suspect’s arrest. Cloning devices and stolen parts were uncovered, along with over 30 stolen cars valued at over $1.5 million…
