Horry County man allegedly assaults 2 people before standoff at Conway-area apartment

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — An Horry County man remains in jail after allegedly assaulting two people and then barricading himself inside a Conway-area apartment last week, according to a police report and arrest warrants.

Glenn Wendell Bellamy, 39, was arrested early Friday morning after the nearly three-hour-long standoff with Horry County police at the New Legacy apartments. Officers responded at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, and officers said they were able to get him out of the apartment shortly before 2 a.m.

Police were called to the apartment after Bellamy allegedly assaulted a woman with her juvenile son present, causing minor injuries to her face and chest, a warrant said. He had a gun during the assault that police later determined had been stolen…
