MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WBTW) — A woman who was hit and killed Tuesday afternoon while walking along Highway 707 in Horry County worked as an aide at St. James High School, according to Horry County Schools.
Elizabeth Coss, 60, had worked as a paraprofessional at the school since August 2021, the district said in a statement. She lived in the Murrells Inlet area.
“It is with extreme sadness to learn of the recent loss of Ms. Elizabeth Coss,” Horry County Schools said. “This loss is bound to evoke a range of emotions within our entire St. James community, particularly among our students and staff. Our district has a team of counselors who are professionals equipped to support the needs of students, parents, and school personnel during challenging times like these. Our counselors will be accessible to any student or employee who may require or desire assistance.
