Those in the Surfside Beach area Thursday night apparently saw what appears to be a possible tornado.
A video on Facebook showed the funnel cloud, which was seen about 7 p.m. along U.S. 17 South.
Adam Weiner, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, North Carolina, said there were no reports of a water spout or tornado in the area, but conditions on Friday could have supported a funnel cloud.
Weiner said that with the conditions, which included a land breeze with dry air offshore Friday, and with it turning toward the east toward the water, it’s “not out of the realm,” he said…
