Kidnapper of Heather Elvis asking for new SC trial. Elvis has never been found

One of the convicted kidnappers of Heather Elvis is asking the Horry County court for a new trial.

Tammy Moorer filed on Oct. 2, 2025, a petition for post conviction release, citing several errors by the lawyer representing her during the trial in 2018. Moorer was convicted of kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnap and sentenced to 30 years.

Moorer and her husband, Sidney Moorer, were both convicted in Elvis’ disappearance from Peachtree Boat Landing in Socastee in December 2013. Elvis’ phone was tracked to the landing on Dec. 18, 2013, and she has not been seen since.
