Myrtle Beach swimmer dies after previous rescue, re-enters water

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Early Sunday morning, a person swimming at the beach died, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

At 2:14 a.m., a beachgoer near 6th Avenue North flagged down an officer regarding a swimmer going in and out of the water, asking for help.

About a minute later, the officer came in contact with the subject, who was on the beach, and asked if they needed help, MBPD said. They added that soon after, they re-entered the water, and the officer called for additional support to bring her back to shore safely…
