HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River was briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday morning following a phone call about an active shooter, according to Horry County police.
The lockdown was lifted shortly after 9 a.m. after police completed a safety sweep of the facility, but police said there would continue to be a law enforcement presence in the area. Nearby schools were also placed in secure status during the incident.
“An incident involving a possible active shooter was reported earlier this morning at McLeod Seacoast,” the hospital said in a statement. “A phone threat was received against McLeod Seacoast in Little River to the switchboard. McLeod Teams contacted law enforcement.”…
