Jerry cancellations: Weather forces events to reschedule in Myrtle Beach SC area

It’s finally fall in the Grand Strand, and this weekend events around the area were set to take advantage of the cooler weather, but dreary weather is raining some organizations out.

But with forecasts of showers, thunderstorms and coastal flooding, some organizers have decided to postpone plans in hopes of clearer skies. Here are the events that have been rescheduled so far, and when they’re expected to run instead.

Fall Taste of The Market Common

Anticipating inclement weather, Fall’s Taste of The Market Common has been pushed back from this Saturday to Saturday, Oct. 18. The rescheduled event will proceed with tasting dishes from Market Common restaurants, voting for food favorites and a chance to win gift cards and museum passes next weekend.

In the Pink breast cancer awareness walk

Tidelands Health’s 20th annual In the Pink breast cancer awareness walk at Brookgreen Gardens was rescheduled from Saturday, Oct. 11, to Saturday, Nov. 1. Current registrations will carry over for the new date, and new registrations will remain open until Thursday, Oct. 30, or they reach capacity.

“We’ve been keeping a close eye on the forecast and have decided to reschedule In the Pink for Saturday, Nov. 1, as we strive to provide the best event experience for our 2,000-plus participants,” said Ben Conatser, Tidelands Health philanthropy director.

The Lights by the Sea Drone Show and concert

North Myrtle Beach’s free show at the Horseshoe with performances from Blue Monday, Black Glass and a drone display, has been postponed. The city has yet to announce the rescheduled date for the show, which was originally slated for Saturday, Oct. 11…
