This weekend’s rain on top of high tides proved too much for some areas around the Grand Strand, eroding beach dunes, filling streets and even flooding buildings.
The king tides raised water levels around areas prone to flooding, like Cherry Grove and Garden City, then around 6 inches of rain hit the Myrtle Beach area within 48 hours. Through the rising tides and heavy rain, TikTok users captured striking videos of the flooding across the Strand.
