Myrtle Beach Fire Department to use new grant for buying life-saving tools

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach Fire Department says it knows exactly what to do with a new grant.

The agency announced on Thursday that it received nearly $130,000 in grant funding as a member of the Pee Dee Healthcare Coalition.

According to MBFD, that money goes toward buying critical life-saving tools, including:

  • Marine Rescue Platforms – for rapid patient evacuations from ocean or flood waters
  • Anatomage Tablet – cutting-edge, interactive EMS training program in human anatomy
  • SimJunior Manikin – a realistic 6-year-old simulator for hands-on pediatric emergency training
  • SimBaby Manikin – a high-fidelity infant simulator for practicing critical care for our youngest patients

MBFD said that these tools will “enhance emergency preparedness and response across our region.”…
