Myrtle Beach gives final nod to bring back free offseason parking downtown

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — The Myrtle Beach City Council on Tuesday approved a final reading of an ordinance bringing back free offseason parking downtown.

In 2023, the city voted to implement year-round paid parking in its metered spots.

But earlier this month, the city gave initial approval to the ordinance that would allow for free parking in city-metered spots from Oct. 1 through the end of February. This would apply to spots located from 6th Avenue South to 21st Avenue North, and west to Kings Highway…
