Downtown Myrtle Beach Residents Can Enjoy Free Parking at City-Metered Spaces Starting November 1

The Myrtle Beach City Council has approved Ordinance 2025-32. This ordinance creates a free parking district in the downtown area from October 1 through February 28, or February 29 in leap years. In 2025, free parking at city-metered spaces will start on Saturday, November 1. The free parking area covers Sixth Avenue South to 21st Avenue North and extends west to Kings Highway.

The ordinance allows the city manager to declare free parking days for up to 151 days each year. The city manager must notify the City Council and provide an estimate of the financial impact before doing so.
