Chronic absenteeism rates drop in SC, challenges remain

(WPDE) — A new report card from the South Carolina Education Oversight Committee reveals that while chronic absenteeism rates have decreased in some districts, the issue remains a significant concern.

Chronic absenteeism is defined as students missing 10% or more of school days, typically 18 days in a standard 180-day calendar.
