23rd annual Chilympics draws crowds & supports environmental nonprofit

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WPDE) — The 23rd annual Chilympics took place on Sunday.

This event featured live music, vendors, signature drinks and lots of chili. It also raised money for a good cause.

“The Sea Beyond Foundation is the Grand Strand’s newest nonprofit,” said Brooke Vu, executive director of Sea Beyond Foundation. “We are a 501(c)(3) and our mission is to protect the environment. So, we lead different civic groups, different student organizations, out on cleanups. And so we provide all the equipment that they need, and 100% of all of our funding is because of events like this and because of the fundraising that we do here.”…
